On 16 August 2019, I delivered the opening note of the Frame Conclave 2019 on the theme of “Modern Heritage”. It deals with the issue of disciplinary specialisation - as architects we tend to look at all issues primarily from the lens of our profession, forgetting that we are human beings first and architects second. While aimed at architects, it has wider implications on what it is to be human, and what the grounding of specialised knowledge should be.
