It took many centuries, indeed millenia, for mankind's shelter and settlement to evolve to the intricately woven communities that responded entirely to climate, material resources, cultural and economic needs of society. Poor communications resulted in regional integrity and self-reliance on indigenous resources and circumstances. Advent of the industrial revolution changed the basic rules and we are presently undergoing a rebirth which will take a similar time for the maturity of a satisfactory system to evolve, that is responsive to changing needs.
